Junior livestock sales to benefit charity
Support the youth of Socorro County through the Junior Livestock Sale on Saturday August 30th, 3:00pm at the Socorro County Fairgrounds. The Junior Livestock Sale marks the end of many months of hard work and dedication by FFA and 4-H members. Buyers who purchase an animal at the Junior Livestock Sale and donate it New Mexico Boys and Girls Ranches benefit these 4-H and FFA youth and children from troubled backgrounds.
New Mexico Boys and Girls Ranches is a place where children find a safe place to live while they receive the counseling and education they need to build bright futures. Founded in 1944, The Ranches offer a unique combination of family-style living in a rural ranch environment and on-campus schools that provide individualized education.
The Ranches do not accept government funds, nor are they sponsored by a religious denomination or organization. Animals received at the Junior Livestock Sale help defray the cost of caring for the children in their programs and literally puts food on the table. All donations are tax deductible.
If you have questions about the programs at the New Mexico Boys and Girls Ranches or would like to know more about how you can help children, visit their website at www.theranches.org or call 1.800.660.0289.
