Let us repeat that

Just to drive this point home: we think everyone should read and subscribe to BOTH local papers. These papers do a great job covering many local events. There are occasions when we feel they could do a little more digging, be a little less accepting of "the party line" from the power structures at Tech or City Hall or our elected officials, but in general we think the local papers are doing good work. We hope to keep them honest on the political front, which is why we recommend that Socorro residents check us for a third perspective. Because this is a citizen run, not for profit site, we have certain advantages and freedoms that the folks at the Chieftain and the Mountain Mail may not have: we don't sell ads here, so we don't have to keep anybody happy by sugar coating things or "going along to get along." We can, as the saying goes, "dig a little deeper" on certain issues.
