I already drive an electric scooter around Socorro, which is GREAT! I rarely have to put in gas in my car, since we use it so rarely. Still, would love to get an electric car next time around.

I once saw an online chart of fuel efficiencies - ordinary car, SUV, pickup, etc. and I suggested to the creator of that page to put in Bicycle, so people could get an idea where that fits into the big picture. So little CO2 output! Food calories as input. About 100x as efficient as any motorized vehicle, even the most cutting-edge electrics or hybrids.
But in Socorro, for all the wonders it has, surprisingly many for its size, I will need to go into ABQ on occasion, and travel to other places. Of course, it's hard to carry furniture, large pieces of high tech equipment, or a dozen framed pieces of artwork on a bike. So, I must get a car soon. My next car will definitely be chosen with fuel efficiency and low emissions as a major factor.
